Pooch Playoffs 2026 begins in January!
Get ready for Year 4 of the 2026 Pooch Playoffs!
This year, we’re excited to welcome cats and bunnies to the competition starting in January.
2025 was historic welcoming our first-ever feline champion! Congratulations to Rufus the Cat, our Ulti-Mutt Cutie! Against all odds, Rufus battled 19 incredible pups and came out on top, making history as the first cat to win Pooch Playoffs. Who will take the crown in 2026?
Together, we raised $2,230 for the Humane Society this year, bringing our 3-year total to $5,664! A huge THANK YOU to our amazing community of pet parents (now including kitty parents too!) Your support makes all the difference.
Thank you to every pet who competed and every voter who showed up to support their furry (and fluffy!) friends. I can’t wait to see what Year 4 brings for the 2026 Pooch Playoffs!

Welcome to our third annual Pet Playoffs competition! Receive an exclusive pet portrait and give back to The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth!
This bracket-style competition is for the Cutest Pet in Waterloo Region. The donation to enter is $100 and all proceeds go directly to the charity.
Each contestant will receive a goodie bag of items donated by local sponsors. They will also receive a photographic gift from Janelle Joy Studios and the chance to win additional prizes.
Entry into Pooch Playoffs is officially closed for 2025. Voting begins Monday, March 17th, 2025!
